Descriptions

Located in the remote area of Northern Vietnam, Cao Bang attracts travellers by its rustic beauty of multi coloured minority groups and breathtaking landscapes. The mystical charm is made up from limestone mountains, rice terraces, wild rivers, waterfalls and caves. All of these make Cao Bang a perfect destination for travellers who seek an authentic and adventurous travel experience.

Itinerary

DAY 1: HANOI - TRUNG VUONG - PHIA THAP (LUNCH, DINNER)

06:00 Our guide and car will meet us at the meeting point then transfer Hanoi – Cao Bang – Trung Vuong

Lunch on way to Cao Bang

In the afternoon, we will hike Trung Vuong – Phia Thap (3 hours, about 6km) / possible car pick up on the way if needed. We will pass through limestone mountains, rice terraces and maize fields to reach Phia Thap village which is surrounded by limestone pinnacles creating a spectacular scenery

After the trip, we will come back to homestay and take a rest. 

Have dinner at homestay at Phia Thap village

Spend your first night at homestay in Phia Thap. You can join homestay owners for preparing dinner or enjoying beautiful sunset from homestay’s balconies.

DAY 2: PHIA THAP - LAN DUOI - LUNG RI - PHIA THAP (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Enjoy a delicious home-made breakfast which will be prepared by homestay hosts.

Early morning we will climb to the top of a limestone mountain behind the village from which we can enjoy the stunning view over Phia Thap village and its surrounding mountains.

After that, we will start trekking to Lan Duoi village, weaving baskets village, where we will not only see baskets being made, but also have a go at making one ourself.

Say goodbye to Lan Duoi village and continue trekking to Lung Ri where we will enjoy a delicious meal cooked by a local family. The trekking path acrosses a meadow that offers irresistible views over maize fields and a fairy-tale landscape of limestone pinnacles covered in lush vegetation.

After lunch, you will have the chance to experience the tile making process before trekking to Pac Rang village which is specialised in the crafting of blacksmith products.

After the trip, we will come back to the homestay and enjoy the sunset from the homestay’s balconies. Have dinner at homestay. 

Overnight at Phia Thap Village.

DAY 3: PHIA THAP - QUAY SON RIVER - BAN GIOC (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

After a home-made breakfast, we will watch incense making demonstration at Phia Thap village. We can test our craftsmanship skills and try making your own incense sticks.

After that, we will drive to Quay Son river for canoeing. Gliding through the jade-blue waters of the river along a spectacular scenery of limestone mountains and green rice terraces will be an awe-inspiring and relaxing activity.

Lunch will be served in a homestay at Lung Niec village.

After that, we will climb up a mountain next to the village that offers a spectacular view over Ban Gioc waterfall and the nearby pagoda. On the way to the peak we will visit a limestone cave. Admire breath-taking scenery from the peak, we then hike downhill to the waterfall where you have time to enjoy one of the most beautiful natural attractions of Vietnam before.

In the late afternoon, head back to the homestay for dinner.

Overnight at Ban Gioc.

DAY 4: NGUOM NGAO CAVE - CAO BANG CITY - HANOI (BREAKFAST, LUNCH)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared by homestay owners, then start your last day in Cao Bang by visiting Nguom Ngao cave, admire delicate formations of stalactites.

After that amazing trip, we will be picked up by car and go to Cao Bang city. After having lunch there, come back to Hanoi. We will reach Hanoi around 8pm.

Goodbye and hope to see you again on a longer trip!

Children Policies

  • Children under 5 years old: no extra bed needed and the child sleeps with their parents: free of charge if there is one child, the second child is charged 50% of the adult tour price.
  • Children from 5-11 years old: sharing the bed with their parents, the charge is 85% of the adult tour price.
  • Children from 12 years old: charged as an adult.

Notes

  • No services have been kept until a confirmation is made in writing and a deposit of 30-80% is made; the balance is expected to be settled three working days prior to the first day of the tour.
  • Hotels and other services can be adjusted twice to the guests’ interests with no service charge.

Terms of Payment

  • VRTO accepts payment and deposit by both bank transfer and credit card using One Pay.
  • This price is usually one month valid unless a deposit is made to Confirm the booking
  • and to discuss further the routes, hotels, program design, or any other offers to the Guests.
  • Pro-forma Invoice will be provided upon the confirmation of the program.
