HÀ NỘI — Jaap Van Norel of the Netherlands won the first ever Hoàng Su Phì Mountain Bike Challenge 2017, which closed May 21 in the northeast province of Hà Giang.
Vietnamese Phan Dân came in second place, and Guim Valls Teruel of Spain finished third.
The event attracted the participation of 22 cyclists including 12 domestic and 11 foreigners from France, Australia and Spain.
Cyclists competed in three stages in three days through many tourism spots, such as Chiêu Lầu Thi mountain, natural forest in Chiến Thắng hamlet and magnificent terraced rice fields which have been recently recognised as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
After each stage, cyclists had a performance exchange and enjoyed real experiences in homestays.
