Sapa, a hill station meticulously planned and constructed by the French in the early 20th century, is nestled amidst traditional villages inhabited by the Hmong, Yao, and Kinh ethnic groups. Renowned for its diverse cultures, stunning terraced paddy fields, enchanting cloud hunting season, and invigorating atmosphere, Sapa is a destination that captivates visitors year-round. Travellers flock to Sapa throughout the seasons, whether it be January when rare snowflakes grace Southeast Asia, March when vibrant rhododendrons bloom, or September when the air is filled with the aroma of ripened paddy fields. However, it is the majestic mountain ranges, challenging running trails, warm hospitality of the hill tribal communities, and abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables that truly set Sapa apart and entice visitors to linger for days on end.

In the morning, your private Guide and vehicle will meet you at your hotel. We will drive for about 5 hrs or more to Sapa, taking the Highway Hanoi – Lao Cai.

Upon arrival, we will check-in hotel before having a delicious lunch of the mountain dishes. 

In the afternoon, let’s start trekking via small trails (5, 6km) down Muong Hoa Valley toward Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong people. Here we will discover their daily life, how they make traditional clothes, handicraft, indigo products, etc. We will visit the biggest valley which provides the best view of golden rice terraced fields in Vietnam. After Lao Chai, let’s walk to Ta Van village of the Giay people. This is a small group of ethnic people with a rich culture and beautiful houses located on rice paddy fields.

 

Later, our vehicle will pick us up at the meeting point to go back to the hotel. Evening our guide will take you around the Sapa Stone Church, telling you stories about Sapa love market every saturday night, and you can taste from Sapa street foods for dinner to various snacks, including grilled corn, potatoes or eggs (own expenses). Some San Lung local wine to warm us up from the cold of Sapa is also recommended!. Overnight in Sapa.

After breakfast, our guide and vehicle will take us to visit Cat Cat village to learn about the daily life of the H’mong ethnic people, visit Tien Sa waterfall and many other virtual photo spots in the area. If we arrive in time, we can even enjoy a traditional cultural performance near the old hydroelectric plant. 

Return to Sapa town and have lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon we will come to Fansipan Cable Car Station to start the journey to conquer Fansipan, the peak of the Indochina Peninsula, with the world’s most modern 3-wire cable car system with a cabin that can accommodate up to 30 passengers.

From the station, go through Thanh Van Dac Lo Heaven Gate to reach the cloud, Bich Van Thien Tu is located at an altitude of over 2,000m, welcoming visitors and Buddhists from all over with its pure Vietnamese architecture, amid the fog. You can take in the sight of the 21,5m high bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha, majestically towering in the magical clouds, directing your gaze. compassion to humanity. From the Great Buddha statue, the Arhat road, where 18 high bronze Arhat statues of compassion and contemplation surrounded by flying clouds sit, will lead us to the Kim Son Bao Thang Tu complex with its ancient beauty glass of Vietnamese wooden pagodas from the 15th to 16th centuries. In the cold, rhododendron buds are popping up, waiting for March and April to bloom with multi colours of white, yellow, red, purple and pink! There are about 36 species of rhododendrons surrounding the Peak of Indochina! 

 

Finally, after overcoming 600 green stone steps, we will reach Fansipan peak at an altitude of 3,143m, the peak of Indochina. From here, looking out all around and enjoying the sunset, each person may have special emotions and wishes that one just keeps for themselves!

Back to the hotel. Dinner at your own arrangement. You can try a Red Yao herbal bath to relax after a day of walking to refresh (own expenses). Overnight in Sapa.

After breakfast, our guide will take us to hang around. The suggested sites to visit will include Muong Hoa valley, the Hydrangea garden at Sau Chua, Sapa rose garden or Ta Phin ancient monastery. Check-out our hotel before noon. After the last lunch in Sapa with tasty foods, our car will take us back to Hanoi or Noi Bai airport. We will arrive after 5 – 5hrs30 driving.
