Dia Tren is a famous paper-making village, also in Quoc Dan, which just takes about a dozen minutes by motorcycle from Phia Thap up here. Paper production is not as developed as incense or forging products (partly due to the fact that the market for manual paper is not too strong), but traditional paper making is still maintained by many households in the village.

Paper is made from bark (a kind of tree that people call here “maysla” that they take in the forest or planted around the house). The paper is about half as large as A4 paper, which can be used to wrap or clean furniture very well.

The people usually fold the paper into rolls and bring them to markets for sale on the occasion of the market or when months are close to the full moon.
